B.Com (General) and M.Com
The B.Com. (General) degree programme equips students with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to understand and participate in the modern business world. The programme allows the students' to critically evaluate and improve decision making skills. It provides foundation for students who aspire to pursue professional courses such as CA, ICWA, CMA, ACCA, CFA and MBA. It enables the students to equip themselves for careers. It enables them to develop entrepreneurial skills and thus manage their own business effectively. To strengthen their skills and knowledge, workshops, seminars, guest lectures, business quizzes and mock interviews are conducted during the course of study. Apart from the academics, multiple cultural and social activities such as intra-departmental, inter-collegiate cultural and social and environmental awareness programmes are conducted for holistic development and to create a sense of community.
Postgraduate Programme
M.Com
The two years Masters in Commerce is intended to develop teaching and research skills among students to create academic expertise to meet the contemporary needs of society. The programme imparts professional education and training in various aspects of business and its environment. It provides the students with opportunities to develop managerial and analytical skills in order to meet the challenges of business at the national and global level. The programme equips the students with necessary conceptual, business and analytical skills required for handling the business operations. The programme enables students to gain a comprehensive understanding of business practices through practical internships, real-time research projects and participation in seminars and case-study discussions.
Postgraduate Diploma in Global Business and Finance
The PG Diploma in Global Business & Finance offers specialized study for a post graduate qualification with substantial professional accreditation and exemptions, simultaneously allowing for a deeper appreciation of relevant theories in both business and finance and building a critical appreciation of the wider business environment. This programme is offered in association with ISDC and is fully integrated with the CIMA syllabus with an operational case study at the end of the programme. This programme aims at providing students with knowledge and skills required for a successful career in International Business.
The programme enables a student to complete CIMA qualification along with the PG Diploma from Stella Maris College. The student is also required to complete few CIMA external examinations during the course of the programme.
The PGDGBF is offered in two semesters with a total of 120 credits. This programme would provide the learners with real life scenarios embodied in case study approach of learning.
