The Alumnae Association of Stella Maris College comprises a 13,000 strong group of registered members, who are committed to supporting the mission and vision of the institution through involvement and participation in various activities. The affairs of the AASMC are directed by the Executive Committee comprising the President (Principal), Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. The AASMC aims to nurture a close and mutually beneficial relationship between former students and current members of the College community.

The Alumnae Association of Stella Maris College dates back to the initial years of the College, when the Old Students' Association (OSA) was formally inaugurated in August 1954. The credit for the renaming and revival of the OSA must go to Dr. Sr. Flavia Mariapragasam fmm, Vice Principal of the College and Vice President of the OSA, in 1994, during the tenure of Dr. Sr. Annamma Philip fmm, the Principal. It was under Sr. Flavia's stewardship that the OSA was renamed the Alumnae Association of Stella Maris College (AASMC) and began to play a key role in the Stella Maris Community. To Sister's credit goes the publication of the Stella Maris College Alumnae Directory of Life Members and the Newsletter of the AASMC. The Bengaluru and Kerala Chapters of the Association were established during her tenure.

The Career Guidance Cell of the College is administered by Alumnae members on a voluntary basis. It is dedicated to providing quality training and career development programmes for the students of the College. The campus recruitment process in the College is handled by Alumnae members.

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Alumnae,

My heartfelt greetings to each one of you in this 75th jubilee year of our College!

The Alumnae Association of Stella Maris College (AASMC) is several decades old and the list of members grows longer every year. As Stella Maris College nears the 75th year of its founding, it gives me great joy tempered with deep humility at the realisation that we have journeyed hand-in-hand with the nation in upholding and supporting the progress of women through our commitment to the educational aspirations of several generations of young women. Today, Stella Marians inhabit every corner of the globe, bringing their influence and education to bear on the paths of progress and social transformation of societies across the world

Since its founding, the AASMC has been rendering yeoman service to this institution in several ways. Most commendable are the many initiatives they have undertaken to train and prepare our students for the real world of work and careers. The Career Guidance Cell, initiated by the AASMC, and which comprises a sub-unit of the Association, has been very active in job-placement and assisting in recruitment services for companies. A recent initiative is the Training and Skill Incubation centre exclusively for the alumnae of the College. Details may be found on the SMC FB and Instagram handles.

My deep gratitude goes out to our Alumnae who continue to work for the College selflessly and with deep commitment for the welfare of our students. I wish you all success and good health as you go about your work, with a vision for the progress and development of Stella Maris. I would like to reach out to our alumnae across the globe and congratulate each one for her contribution to her community and the larger social sphere. I am confident that each one of you will keep the flag of Stella Maris flying high! Do keep in touch and visit us whenever you are in the city.

Warmest wishes to each one of you. God bless.
