The college is currently pioneering an International Research Project titled "Studies on Policies and Practices in Drugs Use/Abuse in Asian Settings. The Catholic University in Dialogue with Political and Social Actors". The 3 year project which is pioneered and funded by the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU), Paris, France, subscribes to the rationale of the World Forum « Beyond 2008 » organized by the United Nations. The research project is being carried out in 5 Asian countries and 5 Latin American countries to research the drug scenario at an international level. With a four-regional perspective covering Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Manipur, the objective of the project is to arrive at a holistic picture of the country’s drug problem, which will lead to relevant action strategies to curb the problems of drug dependency in the future. Dr. Sr. Jasintha Quadras fmm, Principal, is the President of the Project and Dr. Sandra Joseph is the Director. |
