USE/ABUSE IN ASIAN SETTINGS.
The college is currently pioneering an International Research Project titled "Studies on Policies and Practices in Drugs Use/Abuse in Asian Settings. The Catholic University in Dialogue with Political and Social Actors". The 3 year project which is pioneered and funded by the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU), Paris, France, subscribes to the rationale of the World Forum « Beyond 2008 » organized by the United Nations. The research project is being carried out in 5 Asian countries and 5 Latin American countries to research the drug scenario at an international level. With a four-regional perspective covering Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Manipur, the objective of the project is to arrive at a holistic picture of the country’s drug problem, which will lead to relevant action strategies to curb the problems of drug dependency in the future.
